Abstract

Noise is one of the physical factors in the workplace that can affect workers’ health, comfort, and productivity. This study aims to determine the distribution of workplace noise intensity in garment factories in Tangerang City. This research used a descriptive design with univariate analysis. The population consisted of five garment factories, where noise intensity measurements were conducted three times a day at different times (morning, noon, and afternoon). Data were collected through direct measurements using a Sound Level Meter. The results showed that 40% of the factories had noise intensity levels below the permissible threshold, while 60% exceeded the recommended noise exposure limit for workplace environments. These findings indicate that most garment factories in Tangerang City have noise intensity that may pose a risk to occupational health. Therefore, it is recommended that factory management implement Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) measures to reduce workplace noise intensity to levels below the permissible exposure limit.
