Abstract

Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD) is a rapidly growing health concern with a high prevalence in Indonesia, including the DKI Jakarta region. CKD is characterized by a decline in kidney function, which may lead to serious clinical complications, including uncontrolled acid-base imbalances. This condition is marked by increased creatinine levels and changes in acid-base balance parameters such as pH, bicarbonate (HCO₃⁻), partial pressure of carbon dioxide (pCO), partial pressure of oxygen (pO), and oxygen saturation (SO), which can be assessed through Arterial Blood Gas (ABG) analysis. This study employed a correlational analytic method, with the variables tested being creatinine level, pH value, and HCO₃⁻ concentration. The objective was to analyze the correlation between acid-base balance and creatinine levels in CKD patients at RSAU Dr. Esnawan Antariksa in 2023, using secondary data obtained from patients' medical records. The study found a median blood pH of 7.4505, with a minimum of 7.045 and a maximum of 7.669. The average bicarbonate level was 17.94 mmol/L, and the mean creatinine level was 6.76 mg/dL. Based on statistical analysis using Spearman's test, there was no significant correlation between pH value or HCO₃⁻ concentration and creatinine level. The blood pH values were within the normal range (median 7.4505), the HCO₃⁻ levels were decreased (mean 17.94 mmol/L), and the creatinine levels were elevated (mean 6.76 mg/dL). There was no statistically significant correlation between blood pH or HCO₃⁻ concentration and creatinine levels in CKD patients at RSAU Dr. Esnawan Antariksa in 2023.
