The SECONDARY DATA ANALYSIS: CORRELATION OF ALT AND AST LEVELS IN DENGUE FEVER PATIENTS AT DR. ESNAWAN ANTARIKSA AU HOSPITAL IN 2024
ANALISIS DATA SEKUNDER: KORELASI KADAR ALT DAN AST PADA PASIEN DBD DI RSAU DR. ESNAWAN ANTARIKSA TAHUN 2024
Abstract
Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever (DHF) is a global health problem whose prevalence continues to increase, including in Indonesia. The DKI Jakarta area, especially East Jakarta, shows a fairly high incidence rate. The dengue virus is known to attack the liver, causing inflammation and can increase liver enzyme levels such as Alanine aminotransferase (ALT) and Aspartate aminotransferase (AST), even causing hepatomegaly. This study aims to analyze the correlation between ALT and AST levels in DHF patients. The study was conducted retrospectively using secondary data from medical records of DHF patients at RSAU dr. Esnawan Antariksa in 2024. The study sample consisted of 83 patients selected through consecutive sampling techniques. Data were analyzed using the Spearman correlation test on paired variables ALT and AST. The results showed that the majority of patients were male (57.8%) with an age range of 9–75 years (average 36.99 years). The average ALT level was 89.4 U/L and AST 112.9 U/L. There is a strong correlation between ALT and AST levels with a significance value of p = 0.000 and a correlation coefficient of r = 0.720. From this study it can be concluded that there is a significant relationship between ALT and AST levels in DHF patients, with an increase in AST higher than ALT.
