ANALISIS FAKTOR KEJADIAN ANEMIA DEFISIENSI ZAT BESI PADA ANAK PUTRI
Abstract
Iron deficiency anemia not only occurs in pregnant women and adolescent girls but can also occur in girls. Children are said to have iron deficiency anemia if their hemoglobin (Hb) level is <11.5 g/dL. The World Health Organization in the Worldwide Prevalence of Anemia reported that the prevalence of anemia in elementary school children at the global level is 25.4%. In Indonesia, the prevalence of anemia in children aged 5-12 years reaches 29% and 37% of them occur in girls. The purpose of this study was to determine the factors associated with the incidence of iron deficiency anemia in girls at SDN Rawamangun 01, East Jakarta. This study design was cross-sectional. The sampling technique used proportional sampling with a sample size of 102 respondents from all girls at SDN Rawamangun 01. Data analysis used chi-square data analysis. The results showed that there was a relationship between maternal education, knowledge about anemia, diet, and nutritional status with the incidence of iron deficiency anemia in girls. The importance of consuming iron supplements from childhood to prevent anemia in adulthood.
